Small decline in turnover of properties
The number of property transfers fell by 600 in the first half of 2005 compared with the corresponding period last year. However, the total value of the transferred properties increased by NOK 5 billion.
The total value of the transferred properties was NOK 87.6 billion. This is 6 per cent higher than in the first half of 2004.
A total of 77 500 transfers of real property were registered in this period, a decline of 0.7 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2004.
Increased turnover of holiday properties
The sales figures reveal a decrease in turnover of all types of properties except holiday properties, which increased by 1.7 per cent. Transfers of dwelling properties fell by 2.8 per cent.
Higher prices
A total of 17 600 dwellings were sold on the free market in the second quarter of 2005, a decline of 200 compared with the second quarter of 2004. The average price for the transfers was NOK 1.77 million, an increase of 10 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.
In the second quarter of this year, almost 2 000 holiday homes were sold on the free market. This is just as many as in the second quarter last year. The average price per transfer was NOK 921 000, representing an 11 per cent increase from the corresponding quarter last year.

The statistics are based on the date of registration. On average, a property is registered 30 days after the date of sale.
