Record high sales of holiday properties
A total of 2 600 holiday properties were sold on the free market in the third quarter of 2005 - more than in any previous quarter. In total, 3 400 more transfers of real property were registered during the three first quarters of 2005 than in the corresponding period last year. The aggregate value of transferred properties increased by 16.4 billion.
The aggregate value of the properties transferred during the first three quarters of 2005 amounted to NOK 143.4 billion. This is an increase of 13 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2004. More than half of the increase occurred in the third quarter. The aggregate value of transferred properties in the third quarter of 2005 amounted to NOK 10 billon more than the corresponding value in the third quarter of 2004.
The number of registered transfers of real property over this period in 2005 was 124 300, an increase of 3 per cent compared with the three first quarters in 2004. Seen quarter by quarter, the number of transfers decreased by 4 per cent in the first quarter and increased by 3 and 9 per cent in the second and third quarter respectively.
Increased turnover of holiday and dwelling properties
Sales increased for holiday and dwelling properties during the first three quarters in 2005.
Holiday properties had the highest growth by 3 per cent, while sales of dwelling properties only rose 1 per cent.
Record quarter for turnover of holiday properties
A total of 2 600 holiday properties were sold on the free market in the third quarter of 2005. This is more than in any previous quarter. The average price per transfer of holiday properties was NOK 860 000 in this year’s third quarter, 12 per cent more than in the same quarter last year. Transfer of lease is not comprised in these figures.
Higher price per dwelling transfer
In the third quarter of 2005, a total of 21 100 dwellings were sold on the free market. The average price per transfer was NOK 1.8 million, representing a 10 per cent increase from the corresponding period last year and a 2 per cent increase from the previous quarter.
