Status quo for public housing in 2010

There are small changes in the figures concerning public housing from 2009 to 2010. There were a total of about 100 900 municipal dwellings at the end of 2010; only about 500 more dwellings than at the same time in 2009. This gives us about 20 municipal dwellings per 1000 inhabitants.

To help and encourage the communities to establish more dwellings combined with 24-hour nursing and care services, the government introduced an investment support scheme in 2008. As of December 2010, about 500 such dwellings were established in Norway. These dwellings are included in the 100 900 total municipal dwellings.
