Weaker growth in construction
The enterprises in the construction industry had a weaker growth in turnover in 2013 than in the previous two years. While construction activities in 2011 and 2012 grew by 14.6 and 14.1 per cent respectively, the preliminary figures for 2013 show growth of 5.8 per cent.

The enterprises in the construction industry had a turnover of just below NOK 434 billion in 2013, representing an increase of 5.8 per cent from the year before. Employment increased by 4.1 per cent to about 218 000 persons, while the number of enterprises increased by 2.5 per cent to 54 100.
Solid growth in demolition and site preparation
Preliminary figures show that the group demolition and site preparation had an increase in turnover of 9.9 per cent, while the number of enterprises increased by 4.4 per cent and the number of employees increased by 7.3 per cent. In absolute terms, this gives a total employment of just under 25 000 persons and a turnover of NOK 44.5 billion.
Largest turnover in construction of buildings
The division with the largest turnover in 2013 was construction of buildings, which accounted for 51 per cent of all construction activity. The turnover was NOK 220.3 billion; an increase of 5.3 per cent from 2012.
