Turnover of NOK 181 billion in construction
Preliminary figures show that the turnover for enterprises with building and construction as their main activity was NOK 181.2 billion in 2004 - an increase of 10.3 per cent from 2003. The employment increased by 4.8 per cent in the same period.
The turnover increased in all of the five groups within construction. The strongest increase was recorded in the group site preparation, up 18.4 per cent from 2003.
It was totally 37 055 enterprises with construction as their main activity in 2004 - an increase of 544 enterprises, or 1.5 per cent, compared with 2003. These enterprises employed 149 201 people, an increase of 4.8 per cent from 2003.
Preliminary figures
Preliminary figures for structural statistics are published only on enterprise level. Figures for enterprises will generally show other values than the figures for local kind-of-activity units. The reason is that an enterprise that is registered with its main activity in one industry may have local kind-of-activity units with activity in other industries. The data have not been as thoroughly revised as they will be at the publishing of the final figures in May 2006.
