Considerable increase in manufacturing turnover in the second quarter
Published:
Seasonally-adjusted figures showed that the total turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 4.6 per cent from the first to the second quarter of 2018. A 1.5 per cent increase was recorded from May 2018 to June 2018.
The index value for turnover in manufacturing was 151.2 (2005=100) in the period April-June 2018, compared to 144.6 in the previous three-month period, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. The turnover in manufacturing fell significally in the years 2015 and 2016, much due to a lower oil prices and reduced oil and gas investments. Since the bottom level in 2016/2017, the manufacturing turnover has recovered significally, and are now approaching the level before the fall started.
