Increase in manufacturing turnover

Seasonally-adjusted figures showed that the total turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 2.6 per cent in the period February to April 2017 compared to the previous three-month period. A 1.3 per cent rise was recorded from March to April 2017.
The index value for turnover in manufacturing was 139.9 (2005=100) in the period February- April 2017, compared to 136.4 in the previous three-month period, according to seasonally-adjusted figures.

Three-month change: growth in refined petroleum, chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries
The 2.6 per cent increase from February to April 2017 was mainly due to a continued growth in the turnover for grouping refined petroleum, chemicals and pharmaceutical products, which rose 13 per cent. Moreover, basic metals and repair, installation of machinery helped to pull up the total turnover.

On the contrary, building of ships, boats, and oil platforms (4.4 per cent) and computer and electrical equipment (2.8 per cent) contributed most to curb the total increase in the manufacturing turnover.
Monthly change: increase in manufacturing turnover
Total Norwegian manufacturing turnover went up 1.3 per cent March to April 2017, according to seasonally-adjusted figures.
The repair, installation of machinery industry registered a solid growth of 21 per cent. The high level of activities and several deliveries among a few leading suppliers accounted this industry for the biggest contributor to the positive trend in total turnover.
Monthly change: slight decline in Norway and rise in the euro area
Total turnover for Norwegian manufacturing went down 0.5 per cent from February to March 2017, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. Manufacturing in the euro area also showed a slight increase of 0.3 per cent. . In the Nordic countries, Sweden and Denmark showed an increase of 1.9 and 2.1 per cent respectively, according to Eurostat.
