Three-month change: growth for food products
Seasonally-adjusted figures show that the turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 1.5 per cent from the first to the second quarter of 2019. Both domestic market and export market contributed to this increase.
Food products and computer and electrical equipment and machinery and equipment contributed the most to the overall growth.
A decline of 11 per cent from the first to the second quarter of 2019 in turnover for building of ships, boats and oil platforms contributed to curbing the positive development in turnover in manufacturing.

Monthly change: increased manufacturing turnover in June
Total Norwegian manufacturing turnover increased by 1.2 per cent from May to June 2019, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. Building of ships, boats was the main contributors to this development. This is due to some large shipments.
Non-ferrous metals and the industry grouping refined petroleum, chemicals and pharmaceutical products contributed to curbing the positive development in manufacturing turnover. Lower price for metals and refined petroleum products was a major factor to the decrease for these industries. For further information on the price trend in the industry, see Producer Price Index.
Monthly change: decrease in turnover in manufacturing in the euro area in May 2019
Manufacturing in the euro area decreased by 0.7 per cent from April to May 2019, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. Total turnover in Norwegian manufacturing decreased by 1.6 per cent in the same period. In the Nordic countries, the turnover in Denmark and Sweden went up 0.2 and 1.2 per cent respectively, according to Eurostat.
