Manufacturing turnover slightly up
Published:
Seasonally-adjusted figures show that the total turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 0.6 per cent in the period March-May 2019, compared with the previous three-month period. Increased turnover for food products contributed to the increased turnover in manufacturing in the three-month period. On a monthly basis, from April to May 2019, the manufacturing turnover decreased by 1.7 per cent.
The index value for turnover in manufacturing was 157.9 (2005=100) in the period March-May 2019, compared to 156,9 in the previous three-month period, according to seasonally-adjusted figures.
1 The index value for period m is the average of period m, m-1 and m-2.

Three-month change: growth for food products
Seasonally-adjusted figures show that the turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 0.6 per cent in the period March to May 2019 compared to the previous three-month period. There was a turnover growth in the export market that led to this increase.
Food products and computer and electrical equipment contributed the most to the overall growth with an increase of 1.7 and 5.9 per cent respectively.
A decline of 12 per cent in turnover for building of ships, boats and oil platforms contributed to curbing the positive development in turnover in manufacturing. This is due to large shipments in the previous three-month period.
