Three-month change: price growth for refined petroleum products still contributes to rise in turnover
Seasonally-adjusted figures showed that the turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 2.6 per cent in the period November 2017 to January 2018 compared with the previous three month period.
The highest contribution to the rise came from the industry grouping refined petroleum, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. A considerable growth in prices for refined petroleum products (see producer price index) was the main cause for the rise in turnover for this industry grouping.

Total Norwegian manufacturing turnover showed an increase of 1.8 per cent from December 2017 to January 2018, according to seasonally-adjusted figures.
The largest contributions for this decline came from food products which had a decline of 6.9 per cent. This was due to a decline in the processing of fish and feeds sector. Meat and meat products also reported a lower turnover in the same period.
On the other hand, repair, installation of machinery contributed the most to curb the negative development in total turnover. In addition, the turnover were up within the industry grouping rubber, plastic and mineral products.
