Three-month change: pronounced growth in refined petroleum, chemical and pharmaceutical products

Seasonally-adjusted figures showed that the turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased 2.5 per cent from September to November compared with the previous three-month period.

Most of the industries showed a growth in turnover. The biggest contributor to the increase was the grouping refined petroleum, chemical and pharmaceutical products with an increase of 8.9 per cent. Higher prices on refined petroleum products contributed among other things to this development.

Basic metals also showed a clear growth in turnover in the same period. Improved metal prices, especially non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and nickel explains a lot of the growth in turnover.
