High production of electricity
The production of electricity in November was at a record high level: 12 413 GWh. This is 0.4 per cent higher than the previous record for this month from 1995. The consumption was 11 450 GWh, which gives an export surplus in November of 963 GWh.
The production of electricity in November of 12 413 GWh was 2.5 per cent higher than the corresponding month in 2000. The record high production can be seen in connection with greater trickle of water to the water reservoirs than normal for this month. The electricity production from January to November 2001 is 108 088 GWh, which is a decrease of 16.6 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2000.
The contents in the water reservoirs in mid-November were 87.5 per cent of total capacity. This is 3.8 percentage points lower than the corresponding period in 2000 and 0.2 percentage points lower than the median for this period from 1990 to 2000. The contents in the water reservoirs in the beginning of January 2001 were 71.5 per cent of total capacity.

The consumption of electricity in November was 11 450 GWh, which is one of the highest consumptions that is measured for this month. The increase in the electricity consumption from November 2000 to November 2001 was 3.0 per cent. Accumulated electricity consumption in 2001 was 112 617 GWh, an increase of 1.0 per cent compared with corresponding period in 2000.
