In the last decade, Norway's net exports have been around 950 GWh on average. So far this year we have net imports of 5 224 GWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of almost 300 000 households. Electricity consumption in the power intensive industry came to 2 739 GWh in May, an increase of 6.9 per cent compared with the corresponding month last year. Total gross consumption in Norway was 8 946 GWh in May. This is an increase of 1.1 percent.
