Increase in power consumption

The consumption of power in November 2004 was slightly higher than the average for the last years and was considerably higher than in November 2003. The consumption came to 11 785 GWh, which is an increase of 10.2 per cent from November 2003.

Production, consumption and export surplus of electric energy per month. GWh

Production, consumption and export surplus of electric energy in October. 1979-2004. GWh

Power-intensive industries used 2 828 GWh of the total consumption in November 2004. This is an increase of 4.4 per cent from the corresponding month in 2003. The consumption increased by 12.2 per cent when power-intensive industries are excluded in the same period. The total consumption of power came to 109 221 GWh in the period January - November 2004 - an increase of 5.6 per cent from the same period in 2003. Power-intensive industries increased the consumption by 9.8 per cent in the same period.

Higher production of power

The production of power came to 10 700 GWh in November 2004, an increase of 7.3 per cent from November 2003. The resources in the reservoirs improved compared with the normal for November. This was a result of high imports of power to Norway and considerable precipitation. The precipitation was 150 per cent of the normal and Norway had net imports of 1 084 GWh.
