Increased consumption of electricity

The electricity consumption rose by 7.4 per cent to 8 744 GWh in June this year compared with June last year. Exports of electricity also increased in June, as the net export reached 854 GWh.

The electricity production was 9 597 GWh in June. This is a rise of 23.5 per cent compared with the same period last year. In June, the total import and export was 280 GWh and 1 134 GWh respectively. This represents a net export (export minus import) of 854 GWh. So far this year, Norway has exported 7 394 GWh of electricity.

The gross domestic consumption of electricity rose by 7.4 per cent in June compared with last year and now stands at 8 744 GWh. This is the highest level of gross domestic consumption ever measured in June. The electricity consumption in energy-intensive manufacturing was 2 779 GWh.
