High exports of power
1 330 GWh power was exported in October and only a small amount of 275 GWh was imported, this resulted in a net export of 1 055 GWh. The production of electricity remains high and was in October 11 274 GWh - 21.8 per cent higher than the same period last year.
High net export of electricity
The import of electricity was 275 GWh and exports amounted to 1330 GWh. This resulted in a net export of 1055GWh. October last year had the opposite situation with a net import of 1251 GWh.
Not since the year 2000 has net export been as high in October as now. Production of power in October during this periode has been above this years level in both 2002 and 2000.
Decreased gross domestic consumption
The gross domestic consumption of electricity decreased by 2.7 per cent from October 2004 to October 2005 and was 10 220 GWh. The electricity consumption in energy-intensive manufacturing amounted to 2 689 GWh, this represents a decline of 8.8 per cent compared with October last year.
The category gross domestic consumption subtracted consumption in energy-intensive manufacturing experienced a slight decrease of 0.3 per cent and was 7531GWh.
Monthly temperature for the entire country was 1.8 degrees higher than normal. This is the seventh highest temperature ever recorded in October in Norway.
The reservoir filling was in the mid October 89.4 per cent of total capacity; this is 1.6 percentage points higher than the median. Average spotprice on Nordpool was 27 NOK øre/kWh in October.
