The electricity consumption in power-intensive manufacturing came to 2 211 GWh. This is a decrease of 21.5 per cent compared with the corresponding month last year and the lowest level ever recorded.
The decline in the electricity consumption in power-intensive manufacturing can be viewed in conjunction with lower demand from abroad.
The electricity consumption excluding power-intensive manufacturing amounted to 6 208 GWh in April 2009; a decline of 11.9 per cent compared with the corresponding month in 2008. Households, services and manufacturing other than the power-intensive account for the majority of the consumption.

The current consumption of electricity excluding power-intensive manufacturing fell by 26.2 per cent from March to April 2009, while seasonally-adjusted figures fell by 9.4 per cent.
