Cheaper electricity with spot price contract
The price of electric energy for households buying electricity with variable price was 22.9 øre/kWh the 1s t quarter this year, taxes excluded. For contracts tied to the spot price, the price of electric energy was only 17.3 øre/kWh. The price of electric energy for contracts tied to the spot price has been lower than with variable price the last years.
Preliminary figures for last year indicate that the price of electric energy for contracts tied to the spot price was 19.3 øre/kWh, while the variable price was 21 øre/kWh. Also in 1998 and 1999 the price of electric energy for contracts tied to the spot price was lower than the variable price. In 1998 it was 2 øre/kWh lower and in 1999 it was 1.8 øre/kWh lower.
