Decline in electricity prices

The average price of electric energy for households was 23.9 øre/kWh in the first quarter of 2005, excluding taxes and grid rent. This is 13.6 per cent lower than in the fourth quarter of 2004 and 17.4 per cent lower than in the first quarter of 2004.

Electricity prices, grid rent and taxes for households, quarterly

The price of electricity including taxes and grid rent was 71.4 øre/kWh. This is 7.8 per cent lower than in the first quarter of 2004.

The average price of electric energy for the service industry was 22.0 øre/kWh in the first quarter, excluding taxes and grid rent. This is 13.1 per cent lower than in the fourth quarter of 2004 and 13.8 per cent lower than in the first quarter of 2004.

For the manufacturing industry except energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the price of electricity was 21.4 øre/kWh in the first quarter this year. This is 10.5 per cent lower than in the fourth quarter of 2004 and 12.5 per cent lower than in the first quarter of 2004. For energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electric energy was 11.1 øre/kWh.
