Higher electricity prices in fourth quarter
The price of electric energy for households was 34.9 øre/kWh excluding grid rent and taxes in the fourth quarter of 2007. Since the measurements started in 1998, a higher fourth quarter price has only been recorded once, in 2006, when the price reached 51.5 øre/KWh.
The grid rent was 23.1 øre/kWh and taxes 25.1 øre/kWh in the fourth quarter of 2007.
Sharp increase for service industry
The average price of electric energy for the service industry was 35.6 øre/kWh in the fourth quarter, excluding taxes and grid rent. This is 117.6 per cent higher than in the third quarter of 2007.
The average price for the manufacturing industry except energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry was 29.1 øre/kWh, compared with 18.8 øre/kWh for energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry.
The measuring period for the fourth quarter of 2007 was week 45. The average elspot price for the entire quarter corresponds well with the elspot price in the measuring period.
