Increase in new orders for exports
The order-based industry shows a 42 percent growth in new orders received between the second and third quarter - calculated in annual growth in trend. The increase is solely due to one large order received from the export market. The total reserve of unfilled orders has nevertheless declined - for the fifth quarter in row.
Several of the manufacturing industries show a positive development in orders received for exports. This is mainly due to one extraordinary large order in the transport equipment industry. New orders received from the domestic market have decreased by 13 percent compared with the corresponding quarter last year. The industries of fabricated metal products, oil platforms and modules and transport equipment show a considerable decline in domestic orders.
One large order in the transport equipment industry has in particular influenced the results this quarter. If this order is kept out of the calculations the total new orders received still show an increase, but clearly demonstrates the tendency of order-based industries having problems.
