Slight decrease in manufacturing

According to the seasonally adjusted figures, the manufacturing output has decreased by 0.6 per cent from September to October. Decline in intermediate goods output as well as in consumer goods output have caused these changes.

Intermediate goods output has experienced a decrease of 1.4 per cent during the last month. Manufacturing of rubber and plastic products has a decline of 4.2 per cent from September to October. For the manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products the decrease in output was 6.3 per cent, while basic metals has declined by 1.7 per cent. According to the weekly-adjusted figures, the output in the intermediate goods has decreased by 1.0 per cent during the first ten months, compared with the same period last year.

Decrease in manufacturing of food products

There has been a continual decrease in consumer goods output since June 2002, according to the seasonally adjusted figures. From September to October the decline in consumer goods output was 0.9 per cent, mainly caused by a decline in the manufacturing of food products. According to the weekly-adjusted figures, consumer goods output has decreased by 0.9 per cent during the first ten months, compared with the same period last year.

More capital goods

Capital goods output has increased by 0.2 per cent from September to October according to the seasonally adjusted figures. 0.8 per cent increase in the manufacturing of oil platforms and modules and 1.9 per cent increase in transport equipment industry have contributed to these changes. According to the weekly-adjusted figures, capital goods output has increased by 1.8 per cent during the first ten months, compared with the same period last year.

Increase in production of energy goods

Energy goods output has experienced an increase of 9,1 percent from September to October, after a strong drop from August to September. According to the weekly-adjusted figures, energy goods output has increased by 1.7 per cent during the first ten months, compared with the same period last year.
