The output in Norwegian manufacturing was 1.4 per cent higher in May to July 2008 compared with the previous three-month period, according to seasonally adjusted figures.

The capital goods output went up by 6.4 per cent in this last period. This was due to a further growth in output in oil platforms, machinery and equipment as well as transport equipment. The positive development within capital goods output continued is due to the high stocks in manufacturing.
