NOK 1 000 billion in wages

Preliminary figures show that wages and remuneration amounted to NOK 1 022 billion in 2012 for residents 17 years and older. This is an increase of NOK 57 billion, or 5.9 per cent, from 2011.

Wages and remuneration averaged NOK 363 800 in 2012. This is an increase of 4.7 per cent from 2011.

Old-age pension

Old-age pension amounted to NOK 144 billion in 2012, which represents a growth of NOK 14 billion, or 11.2 per cent, from 2011.

Fewer with work assessment allowance and unemployment benefit

A total of 215 000 persons received the work assessment allowance in 2012. This is about 5 000 fewer recipients than the previous year. The work assessment allowance amounted to NOK 35 billion, which is about the same as in 2011.

Unemployment benefit was reduced by NOK 0.9 billion from the previous year. The number of persons receiving unemployment benefit has declined by 19 000 from 2011.

The statistics includes taxable cash remunerations and other payments from employers that form the basis of the personal tax return. The source of the statistics is the register on End of the Year Certificates for the year 2012, and covers residents 17 years and older.
