More people received more unemployment benefits
Preliminary figures from the tax assessment show that 177 000 persons received NOK 13.3 billion in unemployment benefits in 2015. This is an increase of NOK 2 billion or 17 per cent from the previous year.

Unemployment benefits per recipient amounted to NOK 75 000 for residents aged 17 and above living in Norway in 2015; an increase of 4.9 per cent compared to the previous year. In 2014, almost 159 000 persons received unemployment benefit in Norway.
Wages and remuneration increased by 3.3 per cent
Of the 3 142 000 persons who received wages and remuneration in 2015, more than 2 908 000 were registered residents in Norway aged 17 and above. Residents in Norway received NOK 1 162 billion in wages and remuneration. This is an increase of 3.3 per cent from 2014. Those who received wages and remuneration received on average NOK 400 000. This is 2.4 per cent more than in 2014.
6.5 per cent increase in retirement pensions
Residents in Norway received almost NOK 183 billion in retirement pensions in 2015. This is nearly NOK 11 billion or 6.5 per cent more than the previous year. A total of 825 000 persons resident in Norway received retirement pensions in 2015. This is almost 30 000 more than in 2014. Additionally, 72 000 non-residents who pay tax to Norway received a total of NOK 7 billion in retirement pensions. This comprises people living abroad and people who died during the year.
