The average assessed tax for residents aged 17 years and older amounted to NOK 126 200 in 2015, an increase of 5.8 per cent from the previous year. The average personal income wages increased by 2.4 per cent, whereas taxable capital income increased by 36.2 per cent in 2015. This substantial increase is due mostly to a doubling of the taxable share incomes. A total of 458 000 persons received on average NOK 224 000 in taxable share dividends in 2015. A lowering of the interest rate meant that average interest received dropped by a third to NOK 4 400.
