Increased roundwood sales and prices

A total of 2.5 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the 1st quarter of 2017. This is 9 per cent more than the corresponding quarter of 2016, according to new figures from the statistic Commercial roundwood removals. The average timber price increased by 5.5 per cent in the same period.

The aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 996 million in the 1st quarter of 2017; an increase of NOK 79 million compared with the same quarter in 2016. On average, the forest owners obtained NOK 344 per cubic metre of timber; an increase of NOK 18.
