More than 500 000 registered hunters

In total, 502 000 Norwegian hunters were registered in the official Register of hunters at the end of the hunting year 2017/2018. Women accounted for 14 per cent.

Of the 502 000 Norwegian hunters registered in the official Register of hunters, the statistics on registered hunters show that 432 000 are men and 70 000 are women. During the last 15 years, the number of female hunters has more than doubled.

More and more women pay the licence fee
Of the 204 400 persons paying the licence fee for 2017/2018, 202 300 were Norwegian. A total of 17 700 of the Norwegian hunters paying the licence fee were women, amounting to 9 per cent of the hunters.
For Norway as a whole, almost 9 per cent of the male population paid the hunting licence fee.

Forty per cent of foreign hunters were Danish
A total of 2 100 foreign hunters paid the Norwegian hunting licence fee. Of these, 40 per cent were from Denmark, 24 per cent from Sweden and 14 per cent from Germany.
