Less labour input in agriculture
A total of 88.3 million man-hours were executed in Norwegian agriculture during the period 1 March 2012 to 28 February 2013. This is 6.2 million man-hours fewer than three years earlier, and corresponds to 3 400 full-time equivalents.

The decrease in labour input reflects the decline in the number of holdings. In the same period, the number of holdings decreased by 3 100. The average labour input per holding was 2 030 man-hours, which is almost the same as three years earlier.
Holders, spouses/cohabitants and other family members carried out 74 per cent of the labour input in agriculture. Regular and temporary employees and self-employed persons carried out the remainder. Men carried out about 73 per cent of the total labour input in agriculture.
