Labour input in agriculture
From 1 June 2004 to 31 May 2005 a total of 120 million man-hours were used in Norwegian agriculture, including horticulture. This is 11.9 million man-hours less than two years earlier.
The total labour input on holdings with agriculture was 130 million man-hours in 2004/05. The labour input to agriculture and horticulture represent 120 million man-hours of the total. The labour input in forestry was 3.8 million man-hours, and in supplementary industries 6.8 million. The total labour input on holdings with agriculture in 2004/05 was 12.2 million man-hours less than two years earlier.
The final figures for the total labour input on holdings with agriculture are 0.6 million man-hours, or 0.5 per cent lower than the preliminary figures. Between the preliminary and final figures for 2004/05 the labour input to agriculture and horticulture differ 0.5 million man-hours. The major explanation to the difference is the decline in the number of holdings, while the average labour input per holding is at the same level.
