Local authorities spent NOK 9.8 billion on culture
Local authorities spent an average of NOK 1 921 per capita on cultural purposes in 2013. This is an increase of 4 per cent compared to 2012.

The annual KOSTRA figures include the local and county authorities’ expenditures on cultural purposes. Both regional levels have an increase in net expenditure for cultural purposes in 2013 compared to 2012. The county authorities’ have spent the same percentage of their total net expenditure on culture in the last three years, while the local authorities reduced the corresponding percentage in the same period.
County authorities’ net operating expenditure on cultural purposes was NOK 1.3 billion in 2013, which represents 1.6 per cent of their total net expenditure. The local authorities’ net operating expenditure on cultural purposes was NOK 9.8 billion, which represents 3.7 per cent of their total expenditure.
