The Norwegian economy is in a moderate downturn, attributable to three main factors: weak global economic growth is reflected in low export growth; petroleum investment has fallen from a peak in 2013; finally, mainland investment excluding general government has moved on a weak trend.

Weak economic trends

The moderate growth in activity experienced last year is expected to continue for another few years. Loss of powerful growth impulses from petroleum investments will be replaced by a moderate increase in growth in other demand. Unemployment will continue to rise slightly, to almost 4 per cent in 2015.
