Updated land cover figures
The national mapping authority has compiled new figures for land cover in Norway. The mainland is a total of 323 787 km2, while the entire Kingdom of Norway is 385 186 km2.
Figures for municipalities and basic regional statistical units are updated as of 1 January 2010. The only changes since last year are one new basic statistical unit in 0219 Bærum municipality and one new in 0236 Nes municipality. The figures for municipality and basic statistical units are now based on the same data sources.
How to get figures from StatBankIf you want to get the figures for each single basic unit, or all the basic units, this has to be done in several steps. After having chosen the right table, you should select the tab called “Select via groups”, then select the option “region” in the scroll menu called “Select variable”, and chose one of the groups in the scroll menu below. Select the button “Select as single values” after having chosen the required basic units. You can now go back to the tab called “My table” and proceed as usual. Figures for population by basic units are found in the StatBank table: 04317: Population, by basic statistical units (BU) (1999-2010) |
