Still growth in sewage and sanitation

The turnover in sewage and refuse disposal, sanitation and similar activities was NOK 1.31 billion both in the 3rd period (May and June) and the 4th period (July and August) of 2003. This is an increase of 10 per cent in the 3rd period and 5 per cent in the 4th period compared with the corresponding periods of 2002.

Businesses that deal with collection and treatment of other waste represented almost 9/10 of the total turnover, and recorded a turnover of NOK 1.14 billion in the 2nd period and NOK 1.17 billion in the 4t h period of 2003.

Within collection and treatment of sewage the businesses had a turnover of NOK 132 million in the 3rd period and NOK 108 million in the 4th period of 2003. The businesses dealing with sanitation, remediation and similar activities recorded a turnover of NOK 41 million in the 3rd period. In the 4th period the turnover was NOK 31 million. This subclass had a small decrease in the turnover compared with the corresponding periods in the previous year.
