Increased turnover in sewage and sanitation
The turnover in sewage and refuse disposal, sanitation and similar activities was nearly NOK 8.2 billion in 2003. This is an increase of 8 per cent compared with 2002.
In the 6th period (November and December) of 2003 the turnover was approximately NOK 1.3 billion. This represents an increase of 2 per cent compared with the corresponding period the previous year.
Within collection and treatment of sewage the businesses had a turnover of NOK 720 million in 2003, an increase of 8 per cent compared with 2002. In the 6th period of 2003 the turnover was NOK 136 million - up 18 per cent compared with the same period in 2002. The businesses dealing with sanitation, remediation and similar activities had a turnover of NOK 222 million in 2003. This subclass had a 3 per cent decrease in the turnover compared with 2002. The 6th period in 2002 recorded a turnover of NOK 49 million - down 18 per cent compared with the same period in 2002.
The businesses dealing with collection and treatment of other waste represented 88 per cent of the total turnover within sewage and refuse disposal in 2003. This subclass had a turnover of NOK 7.2 billion in 2003. This represents an increase of 9 per cent compared with 2002. In the 6th period of 2003 the turnover was NOK 1.1 billion - an increase of 1 per cent compared with the same period the previous year.
