Growth for sewage and sanitation

The turnover in sewage and refuse disposal, sanitation and similar activities was almost NOK 1.5 billion in the fourth period - July and August - of 2004. This is an increase of 5 per cent compared with the same period in 2003.

Within collection and treatment of sewage the businesses had a turnover of NOK 109 million in the fourth period of 2004. This is a 47 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2003. The businesses dealing with sanitation, remediation and similar activities had a turnover of NOK 31 million in the fourth period of 2004. This represents an increase of 7 per cent since the same period the previous year.

The businesses dealing with collection and treatment of other waste represented 9/10 of the total turnover within sewage and refuse disposal in the fourth period of 2004. This subclass had a turnover of NOK 1 316 million in the fourth period of 2004, an increase of 3 per cent compared with the same period in 2003.
