NOK 10.6 billion on sewage and sanitation
The turnover within sewage and refuse disposal, sanitation and similar activities exceeded NOK 10 billion for the first time in 2005.
The turnover ended on NOK 10.6 billion, an increase of 7 per cent compared with 2004. In the sixth period of 2005 (November and December) the turnover was approximately NOK 1.8 billion. This represents an increase of 4 per cent compared with the same period in 2004.
Businesses involved in the collection and treatment of other waste represent about 90 per cent of the total turnover within sewage and refuse disposal. This industry class experienced a growth in turnover of 8 per cent from 2004 to 2005, up to NOK 9.3 billion in 2005. In November and December 2005 the turnover was higher than NOK 1.5 billion, an increase of 5 per cent compared to the same period in 2004.
Businesses involved in the collection and treatment of sewage had a turnover of NOK 903 million in 2005, an increase by 4 per cent from 2004. In November and December 2005 the turnover was NOK 171 million.
Businesses involved in sanitation, remediation and similar activities had a turnover of NOK 318 million in 2005, a decrease of 1 per cent from 2004. In the sixth period the turnover was NOK 84 million.
