Domestic extraction of 316 million tonnes
The economy-wide flow accounts for Norway for 2011 show a domestic extraction of materials from the natural environment of 316 million tonnes. The extraction of fossil energy is the dominating part with 206 million tonnes.

In the same period, 35 million tonnes of material products were imported. The export of these materials accounted for 218 million tonnes. The exported goods were mainly fossil energy materials and carriers.
The economy-wide flow accounts are based on instructions in Regulation (EU) No 691/2011 on European Environmental Economic Accounts. Norway has annual reporting obligations under the regulation.
