13 per cent growth for sewage and refuse disposal

Enterprises within sewage and refuse disposal, sanitation and similar activities had an increase in turnover by 13.1 per cent from 2004 to 2005. The turnover increased from NOK 10.0 billion to NOK 11.3 billion.

The number of enterprises rose by 54, while the employment grew by 197. The change compared with 2004 was 6.6 and 3.2 per cent respectively. The number of enterprises within this division was 875 in 2005, while the number of employment was 6 273.

Preliminary figures

The preliminary figures for structural statistics are published only on enterprise level. Only figures for the number of enterprises, employment and turnover are published. In general, the figures for enterprises will show other values than the figures for local kind-of-activity units. This is due to the fact that an enterprise registered with its main activity in one industry may have local kind-of-activity units in other industries. The data have not been as thoroughly revised, as they will be at the publishing of the final figures in June 2007.
