NOK 22.4 billion turnover
The turnover for local kind of activity units within water, sewerage and waste management and remediation activities went up by 0.5 per cent from 2011 to 2012.

Within waste activities and materials recovery, NOK 8.6 billion of the turnover came from waste collection, NOK 9.3 billion from materials recovery and NOK 2.4 billion from waste treatment and disposal.
Total value added (at factor prices) amounted to NOK 7.3 billion, up 3.8 per cent from 2011. Waste collection and materials recovery was the largest industry, with a value added of NOK 6.3 billion (85.7 per cent of the total).
Most employees within waste collection
There were 8 095 persons employed within water, sewerage and waste in 2012. Of those employed in waste activities and materials recovery, 4 018 worked with waste collection. Remediation and other waste management employed only 111 persons.
Enterprise figures for water, sewerage and waste
There were 1 084 enterprises within water, sewerage and waste in 2012, and together these employed 7 959 people. Gross operating surplus was NOK 2.8 billion, up 0.5 per cent from 2011.
