NOK 22.4 billion in turnover

Preliminary figures show that enterprises within water supply, sewerage and waste had a total turnover of NOK 22.4 billion in 2014, which corresponds to an increase of 1.4 per cent compared to final figures for 2013.

Waste activities and materials recovery was still the largest industry, and its turnover of NOK 20.6 billion made up 91.8 per cent of the total turnover.

Turnover within waste activities and materials recovery consists of NOK 10.3 billion from waste collection, NOK 8.6 billion from materials recovery and NOK 1.7 billion from waste treatment and disposal.

Highest employment in waste activities and materials recovery

The number of persons employed within water supply, sewerage and waste in 2014 was 8 346. Of these, 4 529 worked with waste collection, 2 077 with materials recovery and 530 with waste treatment and disposal.
