Slight increase in tax payments

Total taxes paid amount to NOK 236 billion at the end of March 2017. This equals an increase of nearly NOK 5 billion, or 2.1 per cent, from the corresponding period last year, according to the statistics Tax accounts.

So far this year, payments through the advance taxpaying arrangement make up most of the growth in total tax payments. The contribution from personal taxpayers is NOK 6 billion greater than in the first three months of 2016. By comparison, payments through the non-personal taxpaying arrangement excluding taxes on petroleum extraction have increased marginally.

Increased payments to local government

So far in 2017, payments to local government have increased by NOK 3.4 billion compared to the same period in 2016. These payments equal NOK 54 billion at the end of March. In the same period, payments to central government are about the same as last year and total NOK 77 billion in 2017.

Increased contributions to the National Insurance Scheme

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme total NOK 94 billion, equal to an increase of NOK 3 billion from the first quarter of 2016. Of the total payments, member contributions make up NOK 40 billion and employer contributions NOK 54 billion.
