Figures for assessed corporate taxes for 2011 and assessed tax on personal taxpayers for 2011 and 2012 are now completed and replace previous estimates. 2011 figures for general government revenue and expenditure are now finalised.
2011 tax revenue from petroleum activities adjusted upwards
In 2011, general government revenue was NOK 1 575 billion. This constitutes an upward revision of NOK 5.5 billion when compared to the previous publication in May, of which NOK 5.3 billion is due to new figures for central government revenue from taxes on income and wealth from extraction of petroleum.
Central government revenue from taxes on income and wealth, excluding extraction of petroleum, is adjusted upwards by NOK 0.9 billion for 2011. For local government, the corresponding revenue is adjusted down by approximately the same amount. Also, local government expenditure is revised down by NOK 0.4 billion, mostly due to new figures for use of goods and services and acquisitions of fixed assets. For central government expenditure there are only minor revisions.
Finalised figures for local government amount to a deficit, measured by net borrowing, of NOK 23.5 billion in 2011. For central government, the corresponding figure shows a surplus of NOK 397.6 billion.
Assessed personal tax replaces previous estimates for 2012
For 2012, assessed tax from personal taxpayers has now been incorporated, giving rise to an upward adjustment of tax revenue for general government of NOK 1.4 billion to NOK 614 billion. Total revenue was NOK 1 655 billion, while total expenditure was NOK 1 251 billion, with the latter being NOK 1.9 billion lower than previously published. General government surplus thus amounted to NOK 404 billion in 2012.
