Surplus of 57.5 billion
The general government accounts for 1999 show a surplus (net lending) of 57.5 billion kroner. This means an increase of 45.2 per cent compared to the previous year. Higher petroleum revenues contributed to the increased surplus, while a higher deficit (net borrowing) for local government contributed in the opposite direction.
