Revenue and expenditure adjusted upwards

Since the last publication of these statistics, total revenue and expenditure have been adjusted upwards by NOK 3.7 and NOK 3.1 billion respectively. The general government surplus is now estimated to NOK 396.6 billion.

Total taxes in 2007 have increased to NOK 985.1 billion since the last publication, representing an upward adjustment of NOK 2.5 billion. The main reason for the adjustment is new calculations of incurred taxes on production and new information regarding taxes on income earned by the extraction of petroleum. There are only minor changes regarding income.

With regard to expenditures, transfers to the private sector, mainly benefits to households, have increased by NOK 1.7 billion since the last publication. The consumption is nearly unchanged.

Central and local government

The revenues and expenditures of central government have changed due to adjustments of some of the accounts in the sub-sector ‘other central government and security accounts’. The largest change implies that transfers to the private sector have increased by approximately NOK 1.7 billion. Otherwise there are only minor changes.

The revenues and expenditures of local government have been updated with new figures for the consumption of fixed capital and indirectly measured financial services. There are no alterations in the other figures. In 2007, local government recorded a deficit of NOK 12 billion in 2007.
