Increased tax payments

Distributed taxes totalled NOK 255 billion from January to July 2001. This is an increase of 57 billion, or 28,9 per cent, compared with the same period last year. Oil taxes are the largest contributor to the growth in taxes.

In the period from January to July oil taxes reached 47 billion kroner. This is a big increase compared with the same period last year, when the oil tax contribution was 13 billion kroner.

Total tax income excluding oil taxes indicate an increase of 12,6 per cent compared with the same period previous year. Total tax paid to the local government reached 64 billion kroner. This is an increase of 16 per cent from last year when tax paid to the local government was 55 billion kroner.

Oslo has the strongest growth

Each county has an increase in tax income compared with the same period previous year. Oslo has the biggest rise in tax income of 17,7 per cent, followed by Østfold of 16,2 per cent. Vest-Agder has the lowest of 8,2 per cent.
