Tax payments up 4 per cent

From January to April 2002, distributed taxes totalled NOK 163 billion, an increase of 4 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year.

In this period, taxes on petroleum reached NOK 45 billion, a decrease of 4 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 30.8 billion, a decrease of 4 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year. The reason for this may be that the central authorities now have the responsibility for all hospitals. Each county has an increase in tax income compared with 2001. Hedmark and Vestfold have the largest increase, Østfold the lowest.
