Tax payments up 0.8 per cent

From January to June 2002, distributed taxes totalled 218.2 billion, an increase of 0.8 per cent compared with the same period last year. Total tax revenues, excluding petroleum taxes, show an increase of 2.3 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year.

Distributed taxes. January-June 2001 and 2002, by taxpayer group. Millions NOK

Distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January-June, 2000-2001 and 2001-2002

Total tax paid to local government amounted NOK 46.1 billion, a decrease of 11 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year. The explanation is probably that the central authorities have taken over the responsibility for all hospitals. Each county, except from Østfold and Oslo, has had an increase in tax income compared with 2001.
