Tax payments up 1.1 per cent

From January to July 2002, distributed taxes totalled NOK 258.4 billion, an increase of 1.1 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Distributed taxes, January-July 2001 and 2002, by taxpayer group. Millions NOK

Distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January-July, 2000-2001 and 2001-2002

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 55.8 billion, and this is a decrease of 12.9 per cent compared with the same period last year. The reason for this is probably that the central authorities have taken over the responsibility for all hospitals. Vestfold had the largest increase in tax income - 6.9 per cent compared with 2001. Østfold and Oslo had a decrease in tax income compared with 2001. In Oslo tax income decreased by approximately 2.6 per cent compared with the same period last year.
