From January to September 2002, distributed taxes totalled NOK 310.8 billion, an increase of NOK 4.8 billion or 1.6 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Distributed taxes. January-September 2001 and 2002, by taxpayer group. Millions NOK

Distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January-September 2000-2001 and 2001-2002

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 70.6 billion, a decrease of 14.5 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year. This decrease may be explained by the fact that central authorities have taken over the responsibility for all hospitals. The municipalities in the county of Vestfold had the largest increase in tax income, up 6.9 per cent compared with 2001. In Oslo the tax income decreased by approximately 2.8 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year.
